Some youth experience a school environment that is unsafe towards them, which can ultimately effect there academic performance. Stress and anxiety can be a leading cause of a student feeling unsafe at school. There is a statistic showing that half of the LGBT students didn’t feel accepted at school and couldn’t be themselves. I think this needs to change in order to fix LGBT students from dropping out and becoming homeless. School is also an environment where bullying can happen, which can ultimately lead to suicide. Since negative constructions on someone can pose as a risk to developing mental health problems. Not being homeless and in school can also cause lead to mental health problems. Having a bad school experience will mirror on a student’s academic achievement. Which can also lead to problems in the future with post-secondary and getting a job.
